Dr Praveen Kumar HR is a well-qualified Gastroenterologist. He passed Diplomate of National Board (DNB) Gastroenterology examinations in December 2006, securing the highest score in India and was awarded with the prestigious Dr SK Sama Gold medal. He has around 60 scientific medical research publications to his credit published in national and international journals. He is a teacher and a mentor for postgraduate students. He has expertise in treating diseases involving gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and has 19 years of experience in the field of endoscopy. He does both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies which involves highly skilled ERCPs and EUS guided therapies. He was trained under Dr Marc Giovonninni at Marsielli, France for endosonography. At present he is the HOD of Department of Gastroenterology at St. Philomena's Hospital. Previously he was the HOD at Jagjivanram Hospital, Mumbai. His approach to patients is not only treating the disease, but also educating, counselling them with preventive medicine.
