Emergency Medicine
The Department of Accident & Emergency Medicine is well-equipped to provide critically ill patients with comprehensive emergency and acute care. The department has trained specialist doctors, nurses, and paramedics to handle any emergency round the clock and has all the necessary equipment to stabilise patients. Ventilator support is available for adult and pediatric patients. The monthly load of patients visiting the ER is approximately around 1300 to 1400 patients. Our high-tech 24/7 Emergency care centre caters to all emergencies, including geriatric, pediatric and psychiatric patients.
Department of Emergency Medicine deals with life-threatening emergencies, such as:
- Acute coronary syndrome, Stroke, Seizures, Anaphylaxis
- Polytrauma, Head Injury, Abdominal Injury, Pelvic Injury, orthopaedic and sports injuries.
- Toxicological Emergencies – Poisoning, Snake Bite, Drug overdose.,
- Obstetric and Pediatric Emergencies
- Management of Mass & multiple casualty incidents.
- Psychiatric Emergencies
The Department of Emergency Medicine is also running a 3-year course of MEM (Masters of Emergency Medicine) recognised by the Society of Emergency Medicine of India with Members of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM). Every year an intake of 2 candidates with extensive training in emergency, trauma and critical care services is imparted.
