         St. Philomena’s Hospital continues to lead the way in scientific inquiry and the dissemination of medical knowledge. We are pleased to report that the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBG) and Medicine jointly hosted an enlightening session on Diabetes Mellitus on August 28, 2024, at St. Philomena’s Hospital, Bengaluru.

         In collaboration with the Endocrine Committee of IMS and BMS, the Continuing Medical Education (CME) program focused on "Diabetes Mellitus in Midlife Women." The event was endorsed by our esteemed Administrator, Sister Sandhya, and Medical Director, Dr. Shankar Prasad.

         The two-hour session was well-attended by consultants and postgraduate students, reflecting a strong commitment to continuing education within our medical community.

         Dr. Mahesh, an Endocrinologist from Aster CMI Hospital, delivered an insightful presentation on "Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetic Women in Midlife," highlighting the critical intersection of diabetes and heart health. Following this, Dr. Sudeep Putta, an Endocrinologist from St. Philomena’s Hospital, addressed the "Challenges of Glycemic Control in Midlife Women," providing valuable perspectives on managing diabetes in this demographic.

         The session was marked by dynamic interactions and meaningful discussions, leaving participants with significant take-home messages that will enhance their clinical practice.

         This successful program was convened by Dr. Shobha N. Gudi and received strong support from senior gynecologists, including Dr. Shylaja, Dr. Seema Rani, Dr. Gomathy Narayanan, Dr. Shubha Rao, Dr. Susheela Rani, Dr. Thejavathy, and several other distinguished colleagues.
